In 1987, Jordan Belfort began his career as a broker in a thriving investment house. However, soon, against the background of a sharp drop in the Dow Jones index, this financial institution was forced to close. Under the influence of his wife Teresa, he moves to a modest office specializing in low-liquid stocks. His aggressive negotiating style and natural charm bring quick results. Here Jordan meets Donnie, a colleague on the floor, who instantly finds a common language with him. As a result, the friends decide to open their own business, hiring Belfort and his father Max to join the team of friends. The new company gets the name Stratton Oakmont.
