After high school chemistry teacher Walter White receives a terminal lung cancer diagnosis, he is forced to find a way to secure his family's financial future. Drawing on his professional expertise, he decides to manufacture and sell methamphetamine. To carry out this plan, Walter recruits Jesse Pinkman, a former student whom he had previously helped get expelled from school.
