    In the depths of the northern waters, where ice meets darkness, an ancient creature stirs — the kraken. A giant octopus, awakened by the explosions of geologists, attacks a Russian nuclear submarine. All contact with the crew is lost, and a new submarine, commanded by Victor Voronin, is sent to search for them.
